HANOI — A new cultural and spiritual night tour titled “The Bell of Tran Vu” is set to debut at the historic Quan Thanh Temple later this month, with an official launch scheduled for August, according to local authorities.
The 90-minute tour will take place at Quan Thanh Temple—also known as Tran Bac or Tran Vu—one of Hanoi’s oldest and most revered religious sites. Drawing inspiration from a traditional festival commemorating the earthly descent of Saint Huyen Thien Tran Vu, the tour seeks to blend performance art with heritage storytelling.
Scheduled to run weekly, the night tour will accommodate groups of approximately 100 participants. It features a mix of outdoor theatrical performances and interactive cultural experiences. Central to the program are live reenactments of legends associated with traditional craft villages, including Truc Bach, known for silk weaving, and Ngu Xa, famed for bronze casting.
In addition to the main tour, visitors will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of cultural activities. These include demonstrations of calligraphy, displays of traditional clothing, and immersive recreations of ancient Lunar New Year festivities and Confucian examination rituals.
The initiative is designed to preserve cultural heritage while fostering sustainable tourism. It forms part of Hanoi’s broader strategy to integrate heritage conservation with socio-economic development.
The programme is being organized by the People’s Committee of Ba Dinh District, the management board of the Quan Thanh Temple Special National Relic Site, cultural researchers, and local travel agencies.
