Parc Astérix, France – From July 13 to August 31, 2024, Parc Astérix invites visitors to relive the magic of the beloved comic series with the return of its popular event, Le Banquet Gaulois. This immersive experience offers guests the chance to dine alongside iconic characters such as Asterix and Obelix at a life-sized replica of the legendary banquet table from the comic books.
Set in the park’s Gaulish Village — a detailed reconstruction of locations from the series, including Ordralphabetix’s fish stall and Cétautomatix’s forge — the open-air banquet combines themed decor with hearty fare and lively entertainment. The setting includes gingham-covered tables, stoneware dishes, and traditional Celtic drinking horns to evoke the rustic charm of the Gaulish world.
The all-you-can-eat buffet features an extensive menu inspired by the comic strip, including charcuterie, seafood, cheeses, vegetables, classic French main courses, desserts, and the famously oversized wild boar. A vegan version of the boar dish is also available.
Entertainment is provided by costumed characters from the Astérix universe, creating a festive atmosphere for guests of all ages. Highlights include a welcome speech by Chief Abraracourcix, a musical performance (with comedic consequences) from bard Assurancetourix, traditional Gaulish dances, Obelix’s infatuation with Falbala, and Panoramix offering his signature magic potion.
The experience costs €59 per adult and €29 for children up to 17 years old. Two seating times are available each evening, at 6:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Due to high demand, reservations are strongly recommended.
With its blend of nostalgic charm, immersive storytelling, and convivial dining, Le Banquet Gaulois offers a unique way to step into the world of Uderzo and Goscinny this summer.
