HAMILTON, OHIO — Stricker’s Grove, a privately owned amusement park known for its nostalgic charm, will open its gates to the public on July 4 for its annual Independence Day celebration — one of only four days each year the park welcomes non-private guests.
Admission to the Hamilton-based theme park is free, though guests will need to purchase tickets or wristbands to enjoy the rides. Individual ride tickets are priced at $3 each, while a $20 armband grants unlimited access. Another option for unlimited rides is available at $22.
Rides will operate from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and the night will culminate in a fireworks display at 10 p.m.
Food and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase inside the park, but visitors are also welcome to bring their own meals. Parking is $5 per vehicle before 6 p.m. and increases to $10 after that time.
Stricker’s Grove, located at 11490 Hamilton-Cleves Road, is a family-run amusement park primarily used for private events, including weddings, reunions, and company outings. The park features vintage attractions, including two roller coasters. Among them is The Tornado, a wooden coaster designed by Al Collins and constructed by park owner Ralph Stricker — the only known individual in the United States to have built a roller coaster on his own.
