SALT LAKE CITY – Two campgrounds in southern Utah have been named among the “50 Favorite Places to Camp in America Right Now” by Hipcamp, a prominent platform for campsite bookings and outdoor stays.
The list, released for the summer season, highlights standout destinations across the United States, with the selections based on analysis of more than 500,000 campsites nationwide. Factors considered included user reviews, regional travel trends, and editorial input to spotlight some of the country’s lesser-known but exceptional camping locations.
Both Utah campgrounds featured on the list are located near Zion National Park, a popular destination renowned for its towering red rock formations, narrow slot canyons, and the challenging Angel’s Landing trail.
Jellystone Park in Hurricane was recognized for its family-friendly atmosphere and array of recreational amenities. According to Hipcamp, the site features splash pads, swimming pools, mini golf, playgrounds, and a variety of scheduled activities themed around Yogi Bear. The campground is situated approximately 45 minutes from the entrance to Zion National Park.
Also making the list is Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp, located in Virgin, Utah. Spanning 1,200 acres of family-owned land, the site offers dispersed campsites with panoramic views of Zion’s dramatic red cliffs. Guests at the eco-camp can also experience horseback riding, led by ranch owner and fifth-generation cowboy Bill Wright.
The recognition further underscores southern Utah’s growing reputation as a premier camping and outdoor recreation destination.
