WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Legoland Florida officially opened its long-anticipated Sea Life aquarium on Friday, June 6, unveiling a vibrant marine experience designed to engage visitors of all ages. Branded as a “Theme Park Under the Sea,” the new oceanarium features more than 25 interactive exhibits and over 3,000 marine animals.
The immersive attraction is the latest addition to Legoland Florida Resort and is located in Winter Haven. The opening ceremony featured ocean-themed performances, including appearances by costumed sea characters and a towering manta ray puppet. Legoland officials held a playful “kelp-cutting” ceremony to mark the debut.
Among the key highlights of the aquarium are a stingray bay, hands-on rock pools, and 10 underwater-themed galleries. A signature 180-degree ocean tunnel allows guests — even the smallest ones — to stand eye-to-eye with sharks and rays gliding overhead.
Visitors can explore exhibits that include seahorses, jellyfish, and a variety of tropical fish, all displayed in thoughtfully designed habitats. Legoland emphasized that the aquarium prioritizes animal welfare through the use of specially filtered water systems, low-stress lighting, and environments tailored to the needs of each species.
Tickets to Sea Life are available as a standalone option for $25 or as a $15 add-on to regular Legoland admission. The aquarium’s debut adds a new dimension to Legoland’s offerings, blending education, entertainment, and conservation awareness in a format accessible to families and young children.
Sea Life at Legoland joins a global network of Sea Life centers and reinforces the park’s ongoing investment in experiential learning through themed attractions.
