HYDERABAD — Goan artist Sunil Lingu Shirodkar has been awarded third prize at the Sixth Edition of the All India Art Competition and Exhibition 2024, organised by the State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad, Telangana.
Shirodkar earned the accolade for his mixed media work titled Ribs, created on canvas. A resident of Goa Velha, Shirodkar is recognised as a self-taught artist with a distinct voice in the realm of abstract art.
Event organisers lauded his contribution, describing him as “a self-taught visionary whose work reflects the power of passion over formal constraints.”
The annual exhibition is a prominent national platform that showcases both emerging and established talent, highlighting the diversity and dynamism of contemporary Indian art.
