San Francisco, CA – DreamPark, the developer of the world’s first and largest downloadable mixed reality (XR) theme park, has raised $1.1 million in seed funding. The round was led by Long Journey Ventures, with additional participation from Founders Inc. The investment will be used to accelerate the company’s growth and further its mission of transforming everyday environments into immersive, interactive adventures through XR technology.
DreamPark is positioning itself at the cutting edge of a rapidly expanding XR live event market, which is valued at $3.6 billion in 2024 and projected to grow to $190.3 billion by 2034 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 48.7%. The company aims to capitalize on this growth with a platform designed to make location-based augmented experiences widely accessible.
“We’re building the world’s largest theme park—one that exists everywhere and is accessible to everyone,” said Brent Bushnell, co-founder and business officer of DreamPark. “This investment allows us to scale quickly, develop partnerships with leading IP holders, and continue enhancing our technology to deliver magical experiences in the real world.”
DreamPark’s model centers on transforming physical locations into immersive environments via a network of “access points”—physical markers such as QR codes. When scanned with devices like Meta Quest headsets or smartphones, these access points overlay digital content onto real-world settings. The company has already deployed its experiences at Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade and the LA County Fair, with planned rollouts in Seattle, Orange County, and other upcoming expos and corporate events.
Long Journey Ventures co-founder and general partner Cyan Banister praised the company’s approach: “DreamPark is the first to truly deliver on the promise of the real-world metaverse. They’ve cracked the code on location-based AR, offering a scalable and unforgettable experience that bridges emerging tech with human connection.”
Unlike traditional VR venues, which often require more than $1 million in construction costs, DreamPark’s platform requires no permanent infrastructure and becomes profitable within its first month of deployment. This affordability makes it an attractive option for retail landlords and event organizers seeking to drive foot traffic and engagement.
“DreamPark isn’t just producing content—it’s creating a platform that revitalizes communities by giving people a reason to gather, play, and connect in real life,” said Aidan Wolf, co-founder and CEO. “We’re merging the digital and physical to craft a new kind of play—where real-world spaces become canvases for collective adventure.”
The new funding will support several key initiatives, including:
- Expanding access points to new locations across the U.S.
- Launching branded experiences in partnership with major IP holders
- Scaling the company’s fleet of rentable Meta Quest headsets
- Growing the development team to enhance platform content and capabilities
DreamPark’s leadership team brings experience from companies such as Two-Bit Circus, Smiley Cap, and Snap Inc., equipping them to deliver on their ambitious vision for global mixed-reality entertainment.
