Six Flags to Launch Record-Breaking Theme Park in Saudi Arabia as Part of Qiddiya Giga-Project

by Evelyn

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: SIX) is preparing for a major international milestone with the planned opening of Six Flags Qiddiya City in late 2025. Located near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the theme park will be the centerpiece of the Qiddiya City development—a flagship initiative under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aimed at diversifying the nation’s economy and bolstering its tourism sector.

The new park will mark Six Flags’ largest global venture to date, boasting 28 rides and attractions. Among its headline features is the highly anticipated Falcons Flight roller coaster, which is projected to set new world records as the tallest, fastest, and longest coaster ever constructed. Adjacent to the theme park, the Aquarabia Water Theme Park will also debut, offering 22 water attractions, including the tallest water coaster globally and Saudi Arabia’s first surf pool.

Currently, no existing entertainment facility in Saudi Arabia rivals the scale or ambition of Six Flags Qiddiya City. While the kingdom has seen the development of smaller amusement parks and family entertainment centers, none match the international stature or investment of this upcoming venture. The integration of world-class attractions, immersive themed environments, and advanced technology is expected to redefine the regional entertainment landscape and significantly elevate Six Flags’ brand recognition on a global scale.

The Qiddiya project represents Six Flags’ first major theme park outside North America, signaling a strategic pivot toward international expansion. Although the company has traditionally concentrated its operations within the North American market, recent corporate statements suggest a growing interest in entering emerging international territories, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. At present, however, Qiddiya City remains the only confirmed international project under the Six Flags banner.

As the opening date approaches, industry observers are closely watching how this landmark development could reshape both the regional tourism industry and Six Flags’ global footprint.
