In a striking visual spectacle across two evenings in May, London’s Battersea Power Station and Edinburgh Castle were illuminated with dynamic projection displays to mark the official launch of Universal Orlando Resort’s newest theme park, Universal Epic Universe, which opened on May 22.
The iconic UK landmarks served as canvases for a transformative showcase, vividly representing the park’s five immersive worlds: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park. The projections seamlessly transitioned from one world to another, captivating audiences and creating a shareable, celebratory moment for fans ahead of the park’s opening.
The event included interactive experiences around both landmarks and offered attendees a chance to win a seven-night trip to Universal Orlando Resort. The prize package featured access to all four Universal theme parks—Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Volcano Bay, and the new Epic Universe. British Airways Holidays, the official UK holiday launch partner for the new park, is providing flights in its premium Club World cabin for the winning guest.
Alison Montague, Vice President of International Sales & Marketing for EMEA, commented during the London launch:
“Battersea Power Station, with its cultural significance and storied history, provided the perfect stage for a breathtaking preview of the five incredible worlds within Universal Epic Universe. This event brings to life our most ambitious theme park yet, and we are thrilled for guests to soon experience the full adventure firsthand.”
The projection experience was open to the public free of charge, offering fans in the UK a taste of the excitement and scale that awaits at Universal Epic Universe in Orlando.
