May Highlights
The open house for the Syracuse Utah Temple commenced on May 7, inviting the public to tour the sacred space before its dedication. Earlier, on May 5, the Church released an official rendering of the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple, offering a first look at the planned structure.
Late April Progress
April 28 marked a flurry of temple activity: open house dates were announced for temples in New Zealand and Texas, the Abidjan Ivory Coast Temple began its public open house, and ground was broken for the Lethbridge Alberta Temple. On April 22, the Church revealed the location for the Eket Nigeria Temple, extending its footprint further across West Africa.
Temple Activity in Africa and South America
The Nairobi Kenya Temple open house began on April 14, followed closely by the announcement of open house and dedication dates for temples in South America. On April 13, Elder Patrick Kearon presided over the dedication of the Auckland New Zealand Temple, which occurred on Palm Sunday.
General Conference Announcements
During the April 2025 General, Conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans for 15 new temples worldwide. This followed the April 8 release of open house and dedication dates for temples in Nevada and Colorado, including the Grand Junction Colorado Temple, for which a rendering was also published.
March Developments
Temple activity in March was widespread. On March 31, the Retalhuleu Guatemala Temple location was announced. Several days earlier, on March 24, milestones were confirmed for five temples, and a groundbreaking ceremony took place for the Birmingham England Temple. March 23 saw the rededication of the Toronto Ontario Temple by President Jeffrey R. Holland, following its renovation.

January featured several announcements including open house and dedication dates for the Syracuse Utah Temple and the Nairobi Kenya Temple, alongside groundbreaking ceremonies for temples in Tacloban City, Philippines, and England.
The year began with an update on the ongoing Temple Square renovation project in Salt Lake City, reflecting continued efforts to preserve and modernize Church headquarters.
