On June 5, the State Museum of Arts named after Abylkhan Kasteyev in Almaty will open the exhibition “Chinese Art of Ideas – Masterpieces from the National Museum of China,” according to the Ministry of Culture and Information.
The exhibition will present approximately 50 works, including paintings, graphics, and sculptures by renowned Chinese artists from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The Kasteyev Museum has been a member of the International Alliance of Silk Road Museums and Galleries since 2018. This membership, initiated by the National Museum of China, aims to foster cultural and artistic cooperation among participating nations.
The exhibition is part of a broader cultural exchange initiative designed to promote national art and strengthen ties through shared artistic heritage. It offers visitors in Kazakhstan a rare opportunity to experience a curated selection of Chinese artworks brought directly from one of Beijing’s most prestigious cultural institutions.
The event follows recent developments in China-Kazakhstan relations, including the arrival of the first tourist train in Almaty from the Chinese city of Xi’an, signaling growing connectivity and cultural engagement between the two countries.
