WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — SEA LIFE Florida, a new family-oriented aquarium, officially opened its doors on Friday at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, marking the park’s fourth major attraction.
The aquarium, designed especially for children, features more than 3,000 marine animals and includes a 180-degree underwater tunnel. The facility spans 25 exhibits across 10 themed galleries, showcasing approximately 150 species from around the world.
“It’s very immersive,” said Franceen Gonzales, president of LEGOLAND Florida Resort. “Visitors can see marine life in a way that’s engaging and global in scope.”
While part of the LEGOLAND Florida Resort, SEA LIFE introduces a distinct educational element not found in the park’s other attractions. According to Gonzales, the aquarium is intended to foster curiosity and learning among young guests.
“What I really love about SEA LIFE Florida is that we’re going to get a chance to have children connect, to learn, to explore,” she said. “An educational component is so different from all the other experiences at LEGOLAND Florida.”
In addition to its exhibits, SEA LIFE Florida is promoting conservation efforts through a partnership with SEA LIFE TRUST, a charitable organization dedicated to protecting marine life. Throughout June, visitors have the option to round up ticket purchases to support the trust’s initiatives.
The aquarium will be open daily at 10 a.m. for the remainder of the month.
