SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Community members are invited to discover ways to support the preservation and promotion of Acadia National Park during an upcoming presentation by JoAnne Wood of Friends of Acadia (FOA). The event will take place on Tuesday, May 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Southwest Harbor Public Library.
Wood will outline a range of volunteer opportunities available through FOA, including assisting at membership tables, participating in stewardship drop-in sessions, offering office support, and engaging in other initiatives. The presentation will emphasize the essential role volunteers play in advancing FOA’s mission to protect the park’s natural beauty.
Attendees will also gain insight into the history of FOA and its contributions to fundraising efforts for Acadia National Park, as well as how volunteers contribute to various programs and conservation projects throughout the region.
