Walt Disney World has announced the official debut date for its highly anticipated nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, set to premiere at Magic Kingdom on July 20. The event marks the park’s first new nighttime parade since SpectroMagic was introduced in 1991.
Produced by Disney Live Entertainment, Disney Starlight blends classic and contemporary storytelling, spotlighting beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar films. The parade features an array of illuminated floats, including iconic figures such as the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, Peter Pan and Wendy, Asha from Wish, and the Madrigal family from Encanto. Elsa from Frozen, Disney princesses including Aurora, Tiana, Belle, and Cinderella, along with Miguel and Pepita from Coco, and Moana also make appearances.
The grand finale float showcases a gathering of fan-favorite characters, including Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Snow White and Dopey, Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled, Aladdin and Jasmine, and culminating with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in shimmering new costumes.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the finale is brought to life through swirling ribbons of starlight, unveiling Goofy and friends as they lead a dazzling procession of memorable Disney moments. These scenes include Snow White and Dopey riding a glittering mine car, Rapunzel and Flynn adrift beneath a glowing lantern, and Aladdin and Jasmine soaring on a magic carpet.
The parade also features a brand-new original musical theme. “You’ve got to have great music to have a great experience,” said show director Tara Anderson. “We need to touch every heart,” she added.
