Dollywood has once again claimed the top spot as the nation’s favorite theme park, marking its third consecutive year receiving the honor, according to the 2024 Amusement Park Attractions Survey released by the National Amusement Park Historical Association (NAPHA).
The Pigeon Forge, Tennessee-based park secured the first-place ranking in the “favorite theme park” category for 2024, continuing a winning streak that began in 2022. In 2021, Dollywood tied for the top spot with two other parks, according to NAPHA’s records.
Operated in part by country music icon Dolly Parton, Dollywood features over 50 rides and attractions and draws more than two million visitors annually, based on figures from the park’s official website.
Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California and operated by the Walt Disney Company, ranked second in the same category.
In addition to its top ranking, Dollywood was also named the second “most beautiful park” in the country, trailing only Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia.
Among traditional amusement parks, Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, was selected as the favorite by NAPHA members. The park’s Phoenix roller coaster also maintained its reputation, earning the title of “favorite wood roller coaster” for an impressive 14th consecutive year.
The NAPHA’s annual survey reflects the preferences of its membership base, which is composed of amusement park enthusiasts and historians from across the United States.
