WIESBADEN — The Museum Reinhard Ernst has unveiled a unique cultural experience with its latest evening event, Music Meets Art, inviting guests to explore the museum in an entirely new light. The program, featuring internationally acclaimed accordionist Martynas Levickis and DJ Philippe Cohen Solal of Gotan Project, merges electronic soundscapes with the emotive rhythms of tango music.
The event transforms the museum into a dynamic, multisensory space. As music pulses from a stage set within the museum’s open areas, it drifts through the galleries, offering visitors a shifting auditory experience that changes with their location. The interplay between volume and silence, rhythm and stillness, echoes the visual contrasts found in the museum’s collection of abstract artworks.
This fusion of music and visual art invites a reimagining of both forms, revealing unexpected parallels in their emotional depth and expressive potential. Though vastly different in presentation, both mediums converge here to offer a deeply immersive encounter that engages the senses in innovative ways.
The evening begins with DJ sets at 9:00 p.m., followed by live music at 9:45 p.m. A final DJ performance closes the event from 11:00 p.m. onward.
This experimental format marks a first for the museum and introduces a novel approach to experiencing contemporary art—through sound as well as sight.
