Yosemite to Fully Reopen All Campgrounds for First Time in Six Years

by Evelyn

For the first time in six years, all 13 campgrounds at Yosemite National Park will be open to visitors this summer, park officials announced Wednesday. The move is expected to make approximately 500 campsites available in one of the nation’s most visited national parks, which welcomed over 4 million guests in 2024.

“We’re very excited to have these campgrounds open to the public as we enter the busy summer season,” said Acting Yosemite National Park Superintendent Ray McPadden. “Camping in this park is truly a magical experience, and we want to provide the opportunity for as many visitors as possible.”

Park officials emphasized that reservations are required for all campgrounds through October. Due to high demand, visitors are encouraged to secure reservations well in advance, as sites often fill weeks or months ahead of time.
