Allou Fun Park, the greater Athens-Piraeus area’s sole permanent amusement park, announced on Tuesday the suspension of its operations. The decision follows a recent three-month closure imposed by the Rentis municipality, where the park is situated.
For 23 years, Allou Fun Park and its affiliated Kidom have been a leading entertainment destination in Greece, offering rollercoaster rides, carnival games, inflatable playgrounds, and various events. The sudden shutdown effectively ends the park’s long-standing role as a major recreational venue.
In its statement, the park’s management condemned the Rentis municipality’s order for the temporary closure, labeling it “improper and legally unfounded.” The company also accused external parties of launching a campaign of systematic disinformation aimed at damaging the park’s reputation, which ultimately contributed to the forced suspension of its activities.
Located southwest of central Athens along the Kifissos thoroughfare in the Rentis district, the amusement park has been a significant part of the inland Piraeus metropolitan area’s leisure landscape.
